The Amazon upload says my app uses an outdated SDK version without DRM integration

Amazon's "outdated SDK version that does not include DRM integration" message is informational, not a blocker. Select No for DRM and continue - no app change or rebuild is needed.

When you upload your app file to the Amazon Appstore, Amazon may show a message like this:

"Your app file uses an outdated SDK version that does not include DRM integration. Select DRM preferences above. If you want to add DRM support in your code, use the Appstore SDK."

What to do: leave DRM off

Select No for DRM and carry on with your upload. This message is informational, not a blocker. Your app uploads and passes review with DRM switched off.

Why you do not need DRM

DRM here means Amazon's own binary and license wrapping. It is not about protecting your video. Tappla apps stream your feed directly, and Amazon does not require DRM for this kind of content.

Switching DRM on would actually work against you: it adds a risk of the app failing to launch, with no benefit in return. We recommend leaving it off.

Nothing needs to change in your app

The "outdated SDK" wording refers to Amazon's Appstore SDK, which Tappla apps do not use, so there is nothing to update on our side and no rebuild is needed. You can ignore the message and continue.

If your listing does get rejected, by far the most common reason is the images rather than DRM. See Submitting your Fire TV app to Amazon: where the images go.
