What Resolutions Does Tappla Support?

Tappla uses Vimeo’s adaptive streaming infrastructure, which supports multiple quality levels:

  • 240p, 360p, 540p – Low-bandwidth fallback options

  • 720p (HD Ready)

  • 1080p (Full HD)

  • 2160p (4K Ultra HD)

Note: What viewers actually see depends on their internet connection and device capabilities.

What You Need to Enable High-Res Playback

To make sure your videos stream in Full HD or 4K, check the following:

1. Upload in High Resolution

Vimeo only creates 1080p or 4K versions if the original file is at least that resolution.
We recommend:

  • Uploading files in 1920x1080 (Full HD) or 3840x2160 (4K)

  • Using a high enough bitrate (e.g. 10–20 Mbps for 1080p)

2. Use the Right Vimeo Plan

Higher resolutions are only available on:

  • Vimeo Pro

  • Vimeo Business

  • Vimeo Premium

Free/basic accounts do not support 1080p or 4K playback.

3. Set the Correct Privacy & Embed Settings

In Vimeo, go to your video’s settings:

  • “Who can watch?” → set to Anyone, People with the private link, or Hide from Vimeo.com

  • “Where can this be embedded?” → set to Anywhere or add Tappla’s domain

This ensures Tappla can access and stream the video.

How Adaptive Streaming Works

Vimeo delivers video via HLS adaptive streaming. That means:

  • Each video includes multiple quality versions in one .m3u8 stream.

  • Viewers automatically get the best version based on their internet speed, device, and screen size.

  • If you uploaded a 1080p video, that version is available — but someone with slow internet may still see 720p.
