In this article we want to address the most important questions about setting up your Apple TV app with Tappla:
Design Settings
It does not let me upload my logo / images => check your file size (max. 5 MB). When the image file size is to high, you cannot save / update your design settings. Use either .jpeg or .png image files
Video Streaming / Play
The videos do not play - is it by design at this stage? => No, but you need to generate in Vimeo an Access Token and add it in your Tappla account. More infos here: http://help.tappla.com/en/articles/2524735-vimeo-integration-access-token
Playlists (Channels, Showcases, Albums ...)
I'm unable to add any new Showcases - how does it work? => Vimeo just recently renamed 'Albums' to 'Showcases'. When adding a so you need to swap out in your Showcase URL the word 'showcase' for 'album', (e.g. instead of https://vimeo.com/showcase/123456789 use https://vimeo.com/album/123456789).
Is there a limit on the number of Playlists we can bring in? => No, you can use unlimited playlists.
Do you know how long the "New" tag will stay on each video? => By default it stays 31 days. If you'd like a different window, just let us know and we can adjust it.
Live Streaming / HLS URLs
Is there a way to create an HLS URL link form our Vimeo Pro account? => unfortunately, Vimeo does not provide you a HLS live stream URL. But Apple requires HLS format. So in order to use a Live section in your Apple TV app you need to use a professional live streaming provider such as e.g. Boxcast.
Monetization
Is there any ability for us to integrate with a Google AdSense account, or to explore charging for the app? => Tappla is for free or already-paid content - we don't provide in-app paywalls, subscriptions, or ad insertion (Google AdSense isn't supported). Any monetization stays where your content already lives. If you need to charge viewers inside the app, that is a different category (for example Uscreen).
