Platforms Tappla supports (current as of October 2026)
Apple TV and iPhone: native apps from one App Store listing, submitted through your own Apple Developer account.
Roku: native Roku SDK channel. Roku discontinued Direct Publisher in January 2024, so Tappla builds native SDK channels instead.
Fire TV: native app, delivered via apps.tappla.com and ready to publish to the Amazon Appstore.
Android TV: native app, published on Google Play.
These are your own apps, listed under your name in each store. Tappla does not place your content on TV stations, cable networks or anyone else's apps.
What we do not support
Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) TVs.
A web player for viewers. The browser link in your dashboard is a preview of your app for you, not a channel your viewers watch on.
YouTube as a video source. Tappla connects to Vimeo, Bunny Stream, Viloud, BoxCast, HLS streams, a CDN or a JSON feed.
Purchases inside the apps, and ad insertion. Tappla does not collect payments. If you sell access, you sell it on your own website, and Tappla unlocks your members-only playlists in your Apple TV, Fire TV and Android TV apps. See Members-only content.
Paid access on Roku. Roku only allows paid content through Roku Pay inside the app, and Tappla does not support Roku Pay. On Roku, members-only works for free memberships.
Pay-per-view for a live stream. The live stream in your apps is always open to every viewer. See Can I sell pay-per-view for a live event?
